High school football is back!
On Friday, Coppell had their home opener against McKinney Boyd. Things are looking pretty good this year, and the Cowboys were hoping to really prove that they were serious this year with a big win.
The first home football game also means lots of video board duties for myself. It started with the starting lineup video. I got all of the materials from the coaches on Wednesday and started putting together the graphics, and on Thursday my good friend Will Seitz recorded the voice over for the starting lineups. We finally got that finished on Thursday, and then I also was making a short video (more of an announcement) about a t-shirt fundraiser for our soccer coaches daughter, who is one year old and has cancer (you will hear more about tomorrow), and I was receiving pictures of groups of people in the t-shirts to put into the video. I started putting it together and was waiting and waiting on pictures. finally around 4:00 I finally got the last few pictures and barely finished the video on time. But it turned out great and lots of people bought t-shirts. (watch video here). Then we had the premiere Intro Video. You might have read about it before, but you probably don't understand how excited I was for this. It got a great response and I have received tons of compliments on it. Just watch it
On another note, tomorrow I begin the very long and arduous journey of documentary making. We are going to the hospital to start shooting for our documentary on Kamryn Rakestraw, the one year old daughter of CHS soccer coach Chad Rakestraw, who has been struggling with cancer since May. As of today she is cancer free! I will write more about Kamryn in upcoming posts.
