So yesterday I told you all about the intro video that I am so very proud of. Well, I still have a lot more to tell you about the video board!
So this Friday is our first home game, and the beginning of my second year as the video board director. Being the director, I have a lot of responsibilities but it is definitely worth it. This week I started to kick things into high gear starting with a meeting with Coach McBride on Tuesday. We went over a lot of aspects of the game that needed some improvement from the technological side. The main thing that we talked about was music throughout the game (i.e. kickoffs and 3rd downs) that will get the team and the crowd pumped up. We got some good ideas down on paper then I headed back to the KCBY room to get all of the music downloaded. I also threw together a little video to play after the games to the song "Should've been a Cowboy" by Toby Keith. One of the other important things I have to do each week is put together the starting lineup video. That consists of using After Effects to make each players slide together, then I have to put all of the together into a video, get the audio clip from the announcer for each player, and also mix in music. After doing that for every game I am at the point where I can complete that pretty fast. Other than that, I also have to put together a highlight video from the previous game, do an interview with Coach McBride every Thursday, give out crew assignments for the upcoming game, and then of course complete any special tasks for that particular week. Although that may seem like a ton of work (well, it actually is) I really enjoy doing it, and hope to get involved with the video board where ever i end up for college
That's all for now, come out to the Coppell football game on Friday and see the final product!
